A colonial-chic bar and café in the White Town known for its vegan mango ice cream, inventive cocktails, and one of the most photogenic interiors in the city.
The Botanist Lounge occupies a beautifully restored space in the La Maison Rose building in the White Town. The interiors are the first thing visitors notice: pressed flowers, botanical prints, rattan furniture, and warm lighting that makes the space work equally well in the afternoon and late into the evening.
The menu blends café staples with a serious bar programme. The vegan mango ice cream has developed a following of its own. The cocktails are inventive without being gimmicky. It is one of the few spots in Pondicherry where you can move seamlessly from a late lunch to an evening drink without it feeling wrong.
The crowd tends to be a mix of design-minded travellers, Aurovilians, and White Town regulars.
