Bay of Buddha occupies the rooftop of The Promenade Hotel on Goubert Avenue, giving it one of the most theatrical settings of any restaurant in Pondicherry. The view encompasses the Bay of Bengal, the lighthouse, and the seafront — best experienced at sunset, when the light on the water turns the meal into something more than a meal.
The menu is Pan-Asian: Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese, and Korean preparations executed with care. The dim sum are the most cited highlight. The satays are well-grilled and properly sauced. The cocktail list is considered, which is appropriate for a rooftop this beautiful.
